Teaching Special Education Students in the Single Subject Classroom
In the CSU East Bay course, Teaching Special Education Students in the Single Subject Classroom, teacher candidates learn about the laws regarding inclusion of students with disabilities in the general education classroom and are introduced to differentiated, individualized and classroom instructional strategies for students with disabilities in a single subject classroom. Below are three assignments from the course: an analysis of the frequency with which people with disabilities are depicted in print media advertisements and television commercials, a reflection on a documentary about the Willowbrook State School, and a reflection on the documentary film, Crip Camp.
